Kotowaza of the day: Before I forget...


Japanese:
年寄りの物忘れ、若い者の無分別

Romanized:
Toshiyori no mono wasure, wakai mono no mu-funbetsu

Meaning of Japanese:
The old often forget, and the young are often thoughtless/indiscreet

English equivalents:
Wisdom is wasted on the old, and youth on the young
A young trooper should have an old horse

Someone once said that we should have old memories and young hearts. Perhaps if that were the case then wisdom wouldn't be wasted on age. ;-)

Speaking of memories, Neal, I always wished I had your memory for vocabulary, quotes, and the like.

At least I still have my young heart. (Although I feel lately as though that's been corrupted, too.)
