Kotowaza of the day: On minding one's own business


Japanese:
薮をつついて蛇を出す

Romanized:
Yabu wo tsutsuite hebi wo dasu

Meaning of Japanese:
By poking at a thicket (bush) you will drive out a snake

English equivalents:
Let sleeping dogs lie
Wake not a sleeping lion
Leave well enough alone

Another colorful English saying that's related is: "You're about to open up a whole can of worms..."
